Acura Auto Parts. Acura is the luxury vehicle brand of the Honda Motor Company. Since March 1986 it has been used to market Honda's performance automobiles and near-performance vehicles in the US, Canada and Hong Kong markets. With the Acura brand, Honda is credited with being the first to market a line of luxury Japanese cars outside of Japan. Before Acura, automobiles exported from Japan were primarily economical in design and largely targeted at low-cost consumers.

AMC Auto Parts. American Motors Corporation (AMC) was an American automobile company formed on January 14, 1954 by the merger of the Nash-Kelvinator Corporation and the Hudson Motor Car Company. AMC in the late 1970s, joined with France's Renault in 1979. The arrangement lasted until March 2, 1987, when American Motors was purchased by the Chrysler Corporation, the Jeep line was continued, as well as some of the models under the Eagle marque.

Audi Auto Parts. Audi AG, more commonly known as Audi, is a premium German automobile manufacturer and one of the world's leading performance-luxury marques, with headquarters in Ingolstadt, Bavaria. It has been a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group since 1964. The company evolved from VW's takeover of both Auto Union, and NSU, the former having incorporated the historic Audi company which was founded in 1910.

BMW Auto Parts.
BMW (Bavarian Motor Works) is an independent German automobile manufacturer. BMW is one of the world's leading manufacturers of cars, and is the parent company of the MINI and Rolls-Royce car brands. Beginning with aircraft engines, BMW produced a variety of products in its early years, eventually shifting to motorcycle production in 1923 and automobiles in 1929. BMW bought the British Rover Group, which at the time consisted of the Rover, Land Rover and MG marques as well as the rights to defunct marquees including Austin and Morris, in 1994 and owned it for six years. By 2000, Rover was making huge losses and BMW decided to sell the combine. The MG and Rover marques were sold to the Phoenix Consortium to form MG Rover, while Land Rover was taken over by Ford. BMW, meanwhile, retained the rights to build the new MINI, which was launched in 2001.

Buick Auto Parts. Buick originated as an independent motor car manufacturer, the Buick Motor Company, incorporated on May 19, 1903 by the David Dunbar Buick in Detroit, Michigan. Later that year, the struggling company was taken over by James H. Whiting, who moved it to his hometown of Flint, Michigan. Buick soon became the largest car maker in America. Using the profits from this, and after a series of corporate acquisitions, the new mega-corporation General Motors was formed. Today Buick is a marque of the GM Corporation and their only North America-based entry-level luxury brand.

Cadillac Auto Parts.
Cadillac was formed from the remnants of the Henry Ford Company on August 22, 1902, the company reformed as the Cadillac Automobile Company. They helped to define advanced engineering, luxury and style early in Automotive History and would come to be known as one of the world's finest-made vehicles. Cadillac is now a brand of luxury vehicles owned by General Motors with the name becoming synonymous for "high quality”.

Chevrolet Auto Parts.
Chevrolet (Chevy) is the best known brand of automobile, produced by General Motors (GM). Chevrolet offers over 20 vehicles and many different enhanced versions in its home market. Chrysler Auto Parts.
Chrysler LLC is an American automobile manufacturer that has been producing vehicles since 1914 under the Dodge name, and from 1925 under it's own name. From 1998 to 2007, Chrysler and its subsidiaries were part of the German based DaimlerChrysler (Daimler AG). Prior to 1998, Chrysler Corporation was named "DaimlerChrysler Motors Company LLC", with its U.S. operations generally referred to as the "Chrysler Group". On August 6, 2007, after the announcement of the spin-off to Cerberus, the Chrysler LLC, or "The New Chrysler", unveiled a new company logo and launched its new website with a variation of the previously used Pentastar logo. Daewoo Auto Parts.
GM Daewoo was first established as National Motor in 1937 in South Korea. In 2001 General Motors decided to buy most of Daewoo Motor's assets to form GM Daewoo. Daewoos were first sold in the United States and around the world as the Pontiac LeMans, a model based on the Opel Kadett E. Under the supervision of Dr. Ulrich Bez, Daewoo developed its own models that were not based on any GM platform. These were codenamed as the T100, J100 and V100, reflecting the code names used by General Motors, with Italdesign Giugiaro working on the T100 and V100. The J100 was designed by IDEA of Italy.

Dodge Auto & Truck Auto Parts.
Dodge is a United States-based brand of automobiles, sport utility vehicles, and trucks, manufactured and marketed by Chrysler LLC in over 60 different countries and territories worldwide. Founded as the Dodge Brothers Company in 1900 to supply parts and assemblies for Detroit’s growing auto industry, Dodge began making its own complete vehicles in 1914. The brand was sold to Chrysler Corporation in 1928, passed through the short-lived DaimlerChrysler merger of 1998–2007 as part of the unofficial "Chrysler Group", and is now a cornerstone of the new Chrysler LLC run by Cerberus.

Ford Information.
Ford achieved significant progress toward improving fuel efficiency during 2005, with the successful introduction of the Hybrid Escape. The Escape’s platform mate Mercury Mariner is also available with the hybrid-electric system in the 2006 model year, a full year ahead of schedule, due to high demand. The similar Mazda Tribute will also receive a hybrid-electric powertrain option, along with many other vehicles in the Ford vehicle line.

Geo Information.
The Geo was a brand of small cars and SUVs marketed by General Motors and sold through Chevrolet dealerships—originally formed by GM to compete with the growing small import market of the late 1980s—the line continued through the 1997 model year, after which the remaining models joined the Chevrolet lineup. Geo was considered a youth brand, much like Scion is today.

Honda Information.
For the 2007 model year, Honda plans to improve the safety of its vehicles by providing front-seat side airbags, side-curtain airbags, and anti-lock brakes as standard equipment in all automobiles available in North America. By 2006, Honda plans to have as standard equipment, Vehicle Safety Assist and rollover sensors in all light trucks—including the CRV, Odyssey, and Acura MDX. Honda also plans to make its vehicles safer for pedestrians, with more safety-designed hoods, hinges, frame constructs, and breakaway wiper pivots.

Hummer Information.
In 1991, AM General began to sell a civilian version of the M998 to the public under the brand name Hummer. In 1999, AM General sold the brand name to General Motors but continued the manufacturing. Encouraged by the popular acceptance of the H1, GM introduced two new models, the H2 and H3. The new models kept the rugged looks of the H1 but started fitting the new models with more consumer pleasing amenities. In May of 2006, GM announced that it was discontinuing production of the H1.

Hyundai Information.
The Hyundai Santa Fe is a mid-size crossover SUV based on the Hyundai Sonata platform. It was introduced for the 2001 model year. Hyundai’s success for releasing its first-ever SUV began with a push to release the first economy mid-size crossover SUV in North America, the Highlander. Toyota and GM, with the the Pontiac Aztek, were competing for the same market. It was a major milestone in the company’s restructuring program of the late 1990s. The Santa Fe, despite being criticized by journalists for its obscure looks, was a hit with the American buyers.

Infiniti Information.
Once satisfied with the success of its luxury sedan, Infiniti turned its sights on the burgeoning SUV market. The release of the QX4 was an amped up version of the Nissan Pathfinder, making Infiniti the first to offer a mid-sized luxury SUV (outside of SUV exclusive manufacturers, Jeep and Land Rover) to the American market.

Isuzu Information.
The Isuzu Ascender is a mid-size SUV from General Motors. Introduced for 2003, the 7-passenger Ascender replaced the mid-size Isuzu Trooper. It also replaced the Rodeo and the Axiom as Isuzu’s only SUV. A shorter 5-passenger model was made available for 2004. Production of the 7-passenger Ascender ended in February 2006 with the closure of GM’s Oklahoma City Assembly plant. The Ascender will be discontinued after the 2007 model year.

Jaguar Information.
In the mid-fifties, Jaguar had reached a point in its history of selling only luxury and sports vehicles. The company also sold a great deal of its production in foreign markets. Looking to increase their market share, Jaguar produced a car that could be sold at home and to a larger market. The Jaguar MK I was introduced at the 1955 Motor Show to garner market share.

Jeep Information.
The Jeep CJ, or Civilian Jeep, was a commercial version of the famous Military Jeep from World War II. The first CJ (the CJ-2) was introduced in 1944 by Willys, and the same basic vehicle stayed in production through 7 variants and 3 corporate parents until 1986. A variant of the CJ is still in production today under license. The last CJs, the CJ-7 and CJ-8, were replaced in 1987 by the reworked Jeep Wrangler. The CJ-7 is very popular in the sport of mud racing, both with the stock body or the fiberglass replica.

Kia Information.
In 1998, Kia was acquired by the Hyundai Motor Company and sales have improved dramatically between 1998-2005. Due to this success, Kia announced on March 12, 2006 that they would build their first North American plant in West Point, Georgia.

Land Rover Information.
Following the trend towards small, sporty SUV’s, Land Rover engineers once again got together to create the Freelander, which debuted officially in 1997. The following year, the Freelander won 4 x 4 of the Year by Off Road & 4 Wheel Drive magazine, and went on to become the best-selling SUV in all of Europe.

Lexus Information.
The world’s second mass-produced hybrid SUV was a Lexus, after the Ford Escape SUV in summer 2004. The SC 300/400 was based on Japanese Domestic Market Toyota Soarer, and was Lexus’ first coupe that was sold in the United States. The second generation SC 430 became the first convertible ever to be offered by the company. In terms of volume, Lexus has been the number one selling luxury nameplate in the United States for the past five years.

Lincoln Information.
As recently as 1998, Lincoln was the best-selling luxury brand in the United States—boosted by the successes of the Navigator SUV, the redesign of the Town Car, and the Continental. Lincoln plans to build five new models from 2004 to 2008; the first of the models are the new 2006 Mark LT pickup and Zephyr.

Mazda Information.
Mazda has introduced a new crossover SUV, the CX-7, in 2006, along with a smaller minivan, the Mazda 5, and hybrid version of the Tribute. At the same time, Mazda is expected to withdraw the slow-selling MPV from the United States market. Mazdas performance brand MPS "MazdaSpeed" was launched in early 2006 with the arrival of a high performance 6. launched later in 2006 is the MX5 Roadster Coupe. This is Mazdas first attempt at a powered folding metal roof.

Mercedes-Benz Information.
Mercedes-Benz automobiles are among the most technologically advanced vehicles in the world, as they have pioneered, both in the past and present, countless technological and safety features and until the late 1990s, were renowned for their flawless design and execution. It was in 1998, when Daimler Benz and Chrysler agreed to combine their businesses, known as the "merger of equals", that the Daimler Chrysler company was created.

- Mercury Information.
The Mercury Milan is a mid-size sedan based on the Ford CD3 platform. The Milan carries unique front and rear fascia designs, but is otherwise identical to its Ford cousin, the Ford Fusion. The Milan is the replacement for the Mercury Sable and it fills the gap the Mercury Mystique left when it was discontinued in 2000.

Mini Cooper Information.
The Mini is a small car that was produced by the British Motor Corporation (BMC) and its successors from 1959 to 2000. The most popular British-made car, it has since been replaced by the New MINI which was launched in 2001. The original is considered an icon of the 1960s and its space-saving front-wheel-drive that traversed engine layout influenced a generation of carmakers.

Mitsubishi Information.
The Mitsubishi Endeavor is a mid-size SUV that debuted in 2004; it is based on the Galant platform. Similar to the Lancer-based Outlander, the Endeavor offers an optional all-wheel-drive system that splits the torque 50/50 by default. It replaced the Mitsubishi L200-based Montero Sport in the lineup, slotted between the small Outlander and the large Montero.

Nissan Information.
The Nissan Xterra is a compact SUV based on the Nissan F-Alpha platform and it has many similarities with the Nissan Frontier pickup. The Xterra is slotted below the Pathfinder in Nissan’s lineup. The Xterra won the North American Truck of the Year award and was Motor Trend magazine’s Sport/Utility of the Year for 2000. It was again nominated for NACOTY and won Motor Trend’s award for the second time in 2006.

Oldsmobile Information.
The Oldsmobile Aurora, launched in 1995, was a luxury automobile made by the Oldsmobile division of General Motors. It was a luxurious 4-door sedan riding on the same Cadillac-derived G platform as the 2-door Buick Riviera and it took over from the Ninety-Eight as the top-of-the-line Oldsmobile. Although it was introduced to bring new life to Oldsmobile—for the first few years of Aurora, it did not even feature the Oldsmobile name.

Plymouth Information.
Plymouth was hardest hit by Chrysler’s financial woes of the late 1970s. Marketing decisions ultimately reduced the Plymouth lineup to the point that it was no longer a full-line make. By the late 1990s, only four cars were sold under the Plymouth brand name: the Voyager minivan, the Breeze mid-size sedan, the Neon compact car, and the Prowler sports car. New models were increasingly given to the Dodge and Chrysler brands, and denied to Plymouth. By 1979, its lineup consisted of only the domestically produced Volare and Horizon models, and a number of re-badged Mitsubishi imports.

Pontiac Information.
In the summer of 2005, the Pontiac Solstice sports roadster arrived—and with it the renewed promise of style and driving fun. It was launched on an episode of The Apprentice; the following day the first thousand Solstices were sold in just 41 minutes. In 2007, Pontiac is coming out with a high-performance version of the Solstice, the Solstice GXP, drawing its power from a Turbocharged, Direct Gas Injection, 2.0L 4 cylinder Ecotec producing 260 hp.

Porsche Information.
Porsche’s 2002 introduction of the Cayenne also marked the unveiling of a new production facility in Leipzig, Saxony, which once accounted for nearly half of Porsche’s annual output. The Cayenne Turbo S has the second most powerful production engine in Porsche’s history (with the most powerful belonging to the Carrera GT). In mid-2006, after years of the Boxster (and later the Cayenne) as the top-selling Porsche, the 911 regained its position as Porsche’s backbone. Indeed, the Cayenne sales have declined and 911 sales are soaring. The 911 currently takes up nearly half of all of Porsche’s sales.

Saab Information.
The Saab 9-5 was introduced in 1997 as the replacement to the Saab 9000; a station wagon version was introduced in 2000. The high powered version of the 9-5 is the Aero (260 hp). The Saab 9-5 continued Saab’s long-running tradition of offering many safety features and pioneered the availability of ventilated seats with active headrests that moved up and forward to prevent whiplash when the car is struck from the rear.

Saturn Information.
Saturn will soon offer two sub-lines of vehicles: the "Redline" Saturns are performance-oriented, while the "Greenline" cars will be more environmentally friendly. The Vue and Ion Redline models, launched in 2004, will be joined by a Greenline Vue and Aura and Redline Aura and Sky in 2007.

Scion Information.
Scion, founded in 2003, is a division of Toyota Motor Corporation that is only available in the United States. Scion is Toyota’s attempt to speak directly to a young (Generation Y) American consumer. Pricing is aimed at those on a limited budget who desire style and "attitude". The chief sales position for Scion is Pure Price—the price is posted in advertisements or in the show room is the price the consumer will pay.

Subaru Information.
On February 15, 1967 Malcolm Bricklin and Harvey Lamm form Subaru of America (SoA) in Pennsylvania and contracted with Fuji Heavy Industries to import the Subaru. In 1968, their first year, they imported 332 cars. In 2000, Subaru of America sold 172,216 cars—14,351 per month or about 20 cars per hour around the clock every day of the year.

Suzuki Information.
In 2004, GM and Suzuki bought the defunct Daewoo Company. Suzuki renamed two Daewoo cars, the compact Forenza and the mid-sized Verona. With a little Suzuki ingenuity, the Forenza added wagon and hatchback body styles. In 2006, Suzuki’s own Grand Vitara was back with a new look.

Toyota Information.
Today, Toyota is the world’s third largest manufacturer of automobiles in both unit sales and in net sales. In the United States, Toyota has roughly double the sales of Honda, and is edging out Chrysler Group to be the number three seller. It produces over 5.5 million vehicles per year, equivalent to one every six seconds.

Volkswagen / VW Information.
Volkswagen resisted adding an SUV to its lineup, but introduced the Touareg in the early 2000s. The company plans to add a miniature SUV, based on its "Concept A" concept vehicle, soon. On July 20th, 2006, VW announced that the new vehicle would be called the Tiguan. In the last fifteen years of the millennium Volkswagen has emerged as a true global force in automobiles, with the acquisition and re-development of famous names such as Audi, SEAT, Skoda, and Lamborghini.

Volvo Information.
In the year 2000, Volvo introduced a new wagon, the V70, based on the S80 platform. It was a completely new replacement for the old 850-based V70 and and also the best handling Volvo ever, according to many organizations. Later that year, Volvo introduced a newer version of the S40/V40 and a smaller replacement for the S70, the S60.
