Coolant:
The weather is definitely going to get hotter and the last thing you need is to get stuck on the roadside with an overheated engine. A sure way to damage your engine is running low of or out of coolant. Here is a quick tip for you. A lot of times when you go to a quick lube place for an in-and-out tune-up they will top-off your coolant with good old fashion tap water. This is simply not good for your car. Make sure that your coolant is always topped of with distilled water or even better you should always top off your engine coolant with a 50/50 mix of coolant and distilled water that compatible with all makes and all models.
Safety Check:
Spring is the perfect time to get outdoors and complete a comprehensive light safety check. This includes brake lights, directional, and of course headlights. Headlight bulbs sometimes burn out and we all know that they have to be replaced when that happens. But did you know that a headlamp bulb can actually dull over time. Night time visibility is extremely important so check lights for dullness. Most headlamp bulbs can be replaced very easily for about $20 dollars. If you would like a price and instructions on how to change your headlamp bulbs contact and DIY automotive parts professional at 1-800-593-1443. We will be happy to help.
Fluids:
Check all fluids to make sure they're topped up, in the winter months, fluids are easily depleted as your engine works harder in the colder weather. Make sure to double-check all the car's fluids regularly.
