2000 Daewoo Lanos Sensor or Tune Up ??

Postby beledk on Tue Oct 21, 2008 2:33 pm

Hello:

I am trying to determine if my Daewoo needs a sensor or just a tune up.

It runs kinda rough, like it is "missing" -- especially upon acceleration or downshifting. The "check engine"
light stays on continually.

I have taken it to a couple of smaller Shops around here. No one seems to have any specifically "Daewoo" Diagnostic machines. But they all agree on the need for a new SENSOR. Just wondering if I spend the $$$$$ on that and the "check engine" light stays on, and it still runs rough -- will wish I had spent the money on a tune up ??

Help anyone?

Your car should be OBDII compliant, possibly CAN. The "check engine light" code needs to be retrieved and cleared, so that you know the problem. A tune up will most likely NOT clear the code or turn off the CEL. What sensor do "they" say you need?
It only gets better!!
